Chef & Owner
Gregg Brackman
18 years of award-winning contemporary American cuisine in Swampscott, Massachusetts.
The Philosophy
Minimalist. Seasonal. Unforgettable.
“I have a minimalistic approach to my cuisine, which means that every flavor in every dish is not overpowered. My food is simple, yet elegant and ultimately satisfying.”
Chef Gregg Brackman opened G Bar & Kitchen in 2008 with a clear culinary vision: that the best food is defined by restraint, not excess. Every dish on the menu is designed to let its core ingredients speak for themselves — never masked, never over-complicated.
Eighteen years and eight seasonal menu changes per year later, that philosophy hasn't wavered. What has changed is the breadth of the menu and the depth of the wine program, both of which reflect Brackman's continued growth and his responsiveness to what's freshest and best in any given season.
On Sourcing
“All of our meats come fresh to us from Bianco and Sons in Revere who make multiple trips to the meat market in Boston daily. All of our fish is sourced from Northcoast Seafoods — a short walk from the docks in South Boston.”
The result is a menu that changes eight times a year — not to chase trends, but to honor what's genuinely in season. Every visit to G Bar & Kitchen is a different experience.
The Menu Philosophy
“We change our menu 8 times a year to ensure that the product we source is the best and 'in season.'” This commitment to seasonality has defined G Bar & Kitchen from its first day in Swampscott and continues to drive every plate that leaves the kitchen.
